What is the purpose of Club Database?
The main purpose is to provide a clear, up-to-date, and easily searchable list of clubs for the students of UBC. We want to be a replacement for AMS' Clubhouse. In addition, we also provide users with the ability to leave feedback for club executives. We believe that this will help clubs run more smoothly and provide students with a better experience. Club executives can respond to constructive criticism and form a forum for discussion.
Who made Club Database?
The main website was made by Vlad Pomogaev. Art, QA, and support by Taylor Fraser.
My club is listed on Club Database. How do I get access to it, so I can change some details and respond to reviews?
You should have gotten an email from us with directions. If not, click here.
I would like to add my club onto Club Database. How do I do that?
Either suggest the club on the front page or email us at [email protected] We'd be happy to help!
Can club owners delete or edit reviews?
No. Website administrators can, but generally don't.
Can't other clubs simply leave bad reviews on my page?
Well, yes. However, we have a “be-nice” policy, which means that reviews cannot be obscene, offensive, and must provide some sort of constructive feedback for the clubs. Club executives can respond to feedback and start a discussion so rectify the issue. This is quite similar to Yelp and other review sites. The review feature is really meant to try to improve club experiences, so please do not abuse it.
How can I help this project?
Please spread the word! Let all of your friends know that this website exists, and let us know if you have any suggestions through email.
